Binding

Quilting Done!
Finished the quilting on Sunday. I "fluffed and stuffed" the quilt into my machine;
stitched in the ditch in the name blocks, and did a continuous line design with Golden Threads paper in the muslin spaces between them - ran out of paper 3/4 of the way through and then marked with the stencil and blue marker. It took time and patience,(this quilt is big-84" x 101") but was fun with the BSR. On days when I had the gift of being able to stay home, I let the cold winds blow, the snow fall and stitched away during the day and buried threads at night while watching the Olympics.
Found out that thread basting doesn't work on a big quilt, the threads kept getting caught on pins, table corners, etc.; so I bought more pins and took out the thread.

Basting Done
It was snowing and blowing today, guild meeting was cancelled so I stayed in the house and got the Presidents Quilt basted. It took most of the day and I ran out of pins. Was not going out in this weather to buy more, so I finished the last fourth of the basting with thread. I saw a video of Sharon Schamber thread basting for machine quilting so I'll see how it works for me. The key is to take out the thread as you come to it while quilting.
