Quilt Show Report

I got the Friendship Medallion quilt done. It won second place in the large wallhanging category at Decatur Quilt Fest! The other two quilts I was aiming to finish for the show didn't get finished because I had to deal with a family emergency. Thankfully that turned out to have a happy ending.
I also entered Cottage Basket table runner which won first place in the "potpourri" category. Summer Solstice, Redwork Sunbonnet Sue and Witchy Poo were my other entries.

Booth at QuiltFest

Even though I mostly machine quilt now, I was asked to do a booth at the show for hand quilting; probably because I was in charge of the raffle quilt two years ago which was hand quilted. Guild members came to my home where the frame was set up to quilt on it, and I did a lot of it also.
The idea of the booth was to encourage others to learn hand quilting, for one reason so that we can continue to hand quilt guild projects in the future. We did have some interest, and people who sat down to try it out.

2011 QuiltFest

Our guild's quilt show was last weekend. Here are the 5 bed quilts I entered. Autumn in New England was also shown in the wall hangings, but I must not have gotten a photo of it.
